Jim Page Benefit for the GI Coffeehouse

The famous, Jim Page, and the not so famous, Patrick Edelbacher, will be preforming a set of acoustic resistance on October 11th at Kings books. There is a $5 cover charge to benefit Iraq Veterans Against the War and GI Voice in their quest to open a GI Coffeehouse at Ft. Lewis. There will also be a speaker from IVAW to talk about GI Resistance today. Support the troops!

IVAW and GOE

I want to know why Gathering of Eagles thinks they have the right to behave in whatever way they see fit and talk to people teh way that they do. The ignorance of these people is amazing. It makes me want to cry more then laugh. I just don't know what to make of it all. So what I want to know is what ya'll think is appropriate in terms of dealing with opposition groups like GOE and Eagles Up etc. My personal policy is ignore the idiots and if they attack me to use appropiate force in defending myself. But I'd like some other opinions...

Soldiers and Democracy: Know Your Rights!

On November 9, 1969, The New York Times published an open appeal by 1,365 active-duty service members calling for an end to the Vietnam War and for no punishment for participating in the historic Vietnam Moratorium march. The petition of these soldiers, representing 80 bases and ships throughout the world, had a huge impact and helped establish the (limited) civil liberties and rights GIs have today. The members of the GI Movement risked their careers and personal security by signing this petition and participating in subsequent actions.  read more »
